Appointments Information
Advice for competition and match organisers on how to arrange refereeing support for games.
Requests for Refereeing Support
To ensure the most efficient and effective use of scarce refereeing resources, appointments for the associations that service metropolitan Sydney are coordinated centrally from the NSWRU Office.
Requests by match organisers, clubs and schools for refereeing support should be directed by email as soon as possible to the NSWRU Central Appointments Officer (CAO), Hamish McKay ([email protected]). Hamish can also be contacted by phone on 0499 194 444.
To assist the CAO in appointing referees with the required skills, knowledge, experience and fitness to handle your matches, your request should provide details such as the match date, venue, team names, kick off times, age groups and grades. Keep in mind that the more notice you’re able to provide, the better the chance that refereeing support will be available when and where you need it.

Important Reminder for Referees
Referees are reminded of the need to access appointments on RX as soon as possible after becoming aware of a matter that will impact on their availability for appointment. A procedural document titled “The Referee Appointments System” — available from the Resource Library page of this website — explains everything you need to know about RX.
